i have a ford puma when i open the drivers door the interior light does not come on and the alarm for lights on is silent. i have checked all fuses. i have a good earth. i have continuitey between the switch and the connection block. i am beginging to think its the pcb mounted beneath the fuse box. when the passenger door is opened the interior light illuminates which shows the circuit is ok also when the remote is activated to cancel the alarm and open the doors the interior light comes on......pick your brains please

Something in the drivers door switch for sure I have many years experience troubleshooting Auto-electrical problems . Either the switch is defunct or the wiring is open from it.

If you can read a wiring dia. Look up the wiring diagram for your car. If not, you should trace the wire from the working side to it's end point. The wire from the drivers door should be there, Then track backward and look for a broken connection. Next time try putting in the year.
