I'm speaking of the regular 4 cyl 2WD automatic models BTW. I know they use to have a 2.3L engine and get about 20-22 MPG highway. How do the new automatic 2WD 2009 4 cyl Escapes fare now that they have a 2.5L under the hood?

I bet Alan has never even sat in an Escape before, so he shouldn't be judging that it might be underpowered. I've test driven one and it seemed great, and the V6 was a ton more power, and I felt the I4 would be good enough for me.

The 5 speed manual version of the Escape you want gets 22 city, 28 highway. Since many people would probably prefer an automatic, the best rated one is 20 city, 28 highway.

I presently force an AWD ruin out Hybrid as a demo operating for Ford. The motorized vehicle is truly remarkable and that i could write an complete essay on useful attributes. The Hybrid has a fifty seven liter (15 U.S. gallons) gasoline tank and that i do ninety 9% in-city making use of which finally ends up in about 640 kilometers (398 miles) to a tank. If I do really street, i'm getting about 470 kilometers (293 miles) to a tank making use of at an known speed of one hundred twenty 5 kph (seventy 8 mph). those at the on the spot are not motorized vehicle rankings, yet own journey, and that i'm heavy footed. I truly have had no themes with it in any respect, you do not see them frequenting the provider branch, and this is been an commonplace suitable motorized vehicle. once you're searching at particular assistance, please experience free to e mail me any questions you've and that i will answer them from journey. My Hybrid is a 2006 that i'm making use of for one 3 hundred and sixty 5 days now.

My guess is that Ford in trying to con the public, switched to a 4 cylinder engine, even tho a vehicle that size needs a six to function properly . Like all American Car Makers..they are now resorting to putting in inferior underpowered engines in order to claim better mileage. You will be driving a giant car with a small underpowered engine for the sake of a few MPG. The choice is yours. Chrysler is known to do this same thing--place highly inferior, and under powered engines in their cars. And we all know what kind of cars Chrysler makes don't we...junk.
