All Fiesta keys have a micro processor built into them. My wife had the same prob with hers and it was cheaper for us to buy a lock set and start again. You may still have to pay ford to set up the micro processor though. I was lucky in that my sons mate worked for them and did it for us. Hope this helps.

try your local locksmith, ours can do it for a fraction of what ford charge.

I've got exactly the same problem as you and I went to my local Timson's and was told that they could order a red key and program them off that for me for £65.

go to your local scrap yard and buy a set of locks alot cheaper . cost me £25 and i got 3 keys + master

frist thing i got to say is i have not saw a Ford Fiesta in years what year is yours?? me i got a 1990 Dodge Omni witch you don't see to many of them on the road

You could always try buying the key from a Ford parts department, get hold of one of the mechanics walking across car park and ask him if he wants to earn himself a quick £30 to programme your new key.
