1966 Mustang Vin Number 10 POINTS!!!?

Hey everyone,
I am considering buying a semi-rusted 1966 mustang with all original parts/engine. Engine is said to have 90k original miles on it. I know rust is a huge problem for cars but am not looking to put it in any shows jsut want somehting driveable. Was newly painted.
Question 1: What can some one tell me about the VIN and what it means.
Question 2: What is a reasonable offer to pay in cash for a car in this shape?

6 = 1966

T = assembled in Metuchen, New Jersey

07 = hardtop (coupe)

T = 200 cubic inch inline 6 cylinder engine

239267 is just the consecutive number



What to offer is difficult with the info that you provided. Try to give more info. Open the doors and look at the underside of the doors for rust. Look under the car at the floor pans and see how much rust there is. Check the wheel wells for rust. Lastly ask if you can pour a cup of water in the cowl (vents between the hood and windshield) if you pour it in and the water comes out in the interior then the cowl is rusted out and this is not a fun fix. It is doable but time consuming. This is the most common place for rust on the vintage mustangs. Lastly, fresh paint jobs on these are a red flag for me, you never know what that nice layer of paint is hiding. Look for little bubbles in the paint (that means that they painted over the rust on the body. Provide some more info and Ill try to get back to you

I sold my California 1967 Mustang with the high output inline 6 for $750 with very little rust.

New paint is not worth much if there is still rust in the car. Is it a quality paint job?
