My dad bought a ford focus 60 plate 6 months ago with only 6000 miles on clock from arnold clark. Through the bad weather we are having in scotland he noticed that the drivers side floor had a puddle on it. He phoned up arnold clark and they said to my dad he was to phone up ford as it was under warranty. He phoned up ford and they told him that it wasn't under warranty and he would have to pay which could cost hundreds. What should he do is there anyway to get this sorted as this is a disgrace.

Water leaks aren't covered by the 3 year / 60,000 mile warranty, just the base 1 year / unlimited mileage warranty. Why this is the case, I do not know. Commercials (eg Transits) are covered for water ingress for the duration of their 3 year / 100,000 mile warranty.

As far as I am aware, many other car makers have the same conditions on their warranties.

Although it is not covered by the warranty, the seller is still responsible that the goods must be "fit for purpose", so I would suggest getting in touch with them again.

Why did they are saying it wasn't decrease than guarantee? A 60 plate might desire to nonetheless be decrease than guarantee. till it replaced into initially offered from a motor vehicle food market, wherein case it is going to basically have a 12 month producer guarantee. the three 3 hundred and sixty 5 days guarantee is a Ford broker element.
