I have purchased what is suppose to be an extremely rare police interceptor of which is vinned out as a "P-71X". this has p225/55x16s on it instead of p225/65x16 and all 4 rotors are slotted with holes in them..The throttle body 4.6 cover is orange and has a ford warning sticker in front of the radiator that reads "warning : special handling car- speed capability 150 mph" also has sticker on dash panel reading the same.I didnt know they made these above the reg interceptors,,,is their more h.p.? How many of these P-71X were made ? any one heard of these ? Any more information you can give me on this car?
Thx

not a factory option. you bought a car that someone slapped some low quality drilled/slotted rotors and stupid stickers and badges on.

nothing special, all P71s are the same.

EDIT: just called a couple techs that i work with. they all have 20+ years of experience with Ford, they've never heard of one. the dealer i work for has been servicing the local police cars for years. if you give me a part number off of one of the badges, ill see if its legit.

also, whats with the tire size, ive been working with tires for years and have never seen one with an X in teh size unless its a XL tire for cars that need a higher load range.

ford blue ovals are easy to fake, it will only be genuine ford if theres a part number on there.

not sure if this will help you.......but the police interceptor models that states and local government agencies buy is really not any different than most of your normal crown victorias....with the exception of dual exhaust high speed pursuit tires, a calibrated speedo, possibly a different interior trim package and a handling package....the engine is the same one they use in all crown vics....I've set up a lot of these cars for the local state police in my area...and there are only slight differences...you didn't buy a hot rod Ford...you bought a crown vic that will handle better at high speeds....and that's assuming you still have the pursuit police tires on it.

never heard or saw anything about a p71x in my years at ford. sounds as if someone liked to play around with the car...never heard of a p71 that would go faster than 130 anyway...
