Very reliable as long as your getting it from around 2004 and up. They use a lot of Mazda parts now, especially in the Ranger and the Escape. I've seen Focuses with around 200k miles on em still runnin strong.

I have a 1993 Ford Escort LX station wagon that has 236,000 miles on it and it still runs great!I'd say that the newer fords aren't as reliable as the older ones. I have the original engine, transmission, fuel pump, and everything else. And it's very quiet. I just need a new AC coil because the car won't go above 40 with the AC on and sometimes it stalls out. I have a friend who has a 2000 Ford Focus and its a piece of junk. the trunk stopped opening a few years ago, its shaking all the time, loud, electrical problems, rattling sound, and 2 windows that fell off the track so its held up by duct tape now. I would get a honda accord or civic or a toyota camry or corolla if you're looking for a good reliable car.

If you think they suck, why are you even looking at them. You'll end up with a "self-fullfilling prophecy." As for me personally I've never had a ford leave me on the side of the road. I've had two chevy's do that. I would jump in my ford and drive across country tommorow if need be. Really the whole this car sucks that car sucks boils down to the driver. Not everybody drives the same way. Some cars just work better with some people. Speaking of RWD cars, the new charger is RWD. And it's a slick looking car.

Yes, my whole family has always bought fords. My dad bought me a brand new 2005 Focus for graduation, and I've never had a problem with it. The air filter has a lifetime warranty. I also drove a 2001 Explorer Sport Trac with no problems (except for recalls), my mom drives a 2005 Escape with no problems. My sister drives a 2009 Escape, and my husband and I just bought a 2010 Mustang. We also plan on having my Escape for another 10 years. At that time it will be 13 years old.

has been the most reliable for over a 100 years
but if you dont believe drive thru any shops parking lot and count what model you see waiting to be repaired might need paper to write down all the GM and dodges but can remember one ford easy shouldnt even have to ask ford have always been best choice but i base my choice on years i ve been driving 40 year an d working on car most of it and you can take my word buy a ford or three chevy's or 6 dodges you pick what you like to drive most thats what matters not what anyone say is best it what you like best if i had a choice a free pick of any

Fords are very reliable. Actually any make of vehicle is reliable if it is taken care of. The only downside I've had with Fords is that when something goes wrong, it takes forever to find out what is wrong. You think it might be one thing, but turn around it's something small and peddly.

my dad has a 2001 ford f150 pickup truck, and about 3 years ago the engine died and $5000 later, we had to completely replace the engine. we have had 2 explorers (one was totaled in a car accident so it doesnt count) the last one was not very reliable and had many problems. we now have a saturn and love it. my dad says that his next truck will not be a ford.
hope this helps!

It all depends on how good of care they get, ( maintenance)
and if they are abused in driving. Yes, Fords are reliable, ive had them for years.

yes any car will last you a long time if you look after it, wash it, oil changes servicing etc. there was a guy on the news one time who bought a new (back then) 1969 mustang and still has it. he wont give it up cos he loves it.
