I own a 1995 Ford F-150 Eddie Bauer Ext cab with a full box, under the hood is a stock EFI 302ci 5.0 Litre V-8. I was told when i bought the vehicle that it had a performance chip in it. I have never seen the chip but i have a bit more power than my friends 1994 F-150 with the same engine and a manual tranmission whereas mine is an auto (not by choice) and i also do not have an RPM limiter or Speed CutOut whereas my friend's truck chokes at 82MPH. I dont have any doubts that my truck has a performance chip but i would like to know where to find the chip in the truck so i know what to buy when i update the chip.

They artwork as much as a element. you're actually not likely to instruct a Yugo right into a NASCAR racing device. 50 hp advance is slightly intense. this is greater like 3 hp advance in step with cylinder. an advance in HP comes at a value - gasoline financial gadget. there is largely a lot capability (BTUs) in a gallon of gas. you could genuinely wager the vehicle manufacturers are tying to get the main out of a gallon of gas under the federal mandate. you could variety the gasoline/air combination (around 14 lbs air to a million lb gas) to get greater capability or greater appropriate financial gadget. except the OEM chip is particularly undesirable, a sparkling chip can't be too considerable. each and every of the useful evaluation are from companies that sell or manufacture the chips. and everybody enable you to appreciate their is maximum suitable. various the greater advantageous overall performance could be an phantasm.

Your truck has an EEC IV PCM. Both EEC IV and EEC V pcms have a service port on the back where modules or chips can be attached. They are usually held in place with tape. If I recall correctly, the PCM is located to the right of the passenger's feet, above the trim panel. If it's not there, contact www.superchips.com and ask them where the PCM is. If it is a Superchips in the vehicle, there should be a small decal with a filename written on it.
