its a ford! So now that we know what the problem is, it sounds like a possible timing belt problem. The white smoke makes me think head gasket, but the booming sound makes me think of timing.

Either one could be expensive to get fixed, and I am assuming you dont work on cars yourself. Good luck!

Oh my goodness, quickly go to a Chevron station or Auto Parts Shop and tell them you need some kinda really good Radiator Leak Sealer with the flaky stuff in it.

Do this while the engine is hot: Carefully remove the radiator cap so as not to get burned. Start the engine and make sure there is water/antifreeze in there visible, shake the sealant up very thoroughly and pour it in slowly. Then top off with some antifreeze, but do not fill all the way to the top.

Put the cap on tightly (to the radiator) and say your prayers that this works while you drive down the highway for a while.

You probably have some crack in the engine through which the coolant leaks. It sounds bad from your story. This is a car you will need to drive very gentle-ly until the engine croaks fully. That way you will get more use out of it. Next time buy a used Toyota.

Interesting to see if this matches the mechanic buffs, I hate to get car grease under my fingernails. But I do all my own car work anyway, if at all possible.

Philosophy. the first Sables were very futuristic searching with an total width easy bar in the front, wrap-round greenhouse, and gentle body which did no longer have a function body line in the fenders, doorways, and quarter panels like the Taurus, which became a more desirable conservative layout with the help of evaluation. It also supplies human beings a justification for spending more desirable money on a vehicle, and elevates and differentiates them from another familiar searching form.

fords with thee3.8 litre engines are known for blowing head gaskets. the booming sound is probably from the compresion leak caused by the blown head gasket.

Take the car back to where you bought it and demand a refund, The seller probaly knew abought the problem and failed to disclose it to you. If they don't give you a refund or a suitable replacement, Take them to small claims court do to the lack of serviceabilty of the car.

check the catalitic convertor Don't put any thing in your radiator you will have more problems If she's not running hot its not a head gasket If running and having a hard time check the exhaust system
