Your Fiesta is probably about 2002 Reg.

EAC means Electronic Acceleration Control,

This system has failed. When you switch the ignition on, the onboard computer (PCM) sends a message to the throttle body to ask if its ok if it isn't happy with the answer it brings up the message "EAC FAIL"

In most cases switching off the engine and then starting it again will temporarily cure the fault.

But the cause can be software within the PCM, the Throttle Body or the wiring inbetween.

You'll need to go onto a diagnostic machine. If the code is P2119, P2135 or P2176 To rectify this concern, the electronic throttle body must be removed, a new TP sensor and a new fuel charging wiring harness with both gold plated pins should be fitted.

The "EAC fail" message means there is a problem with the Electronic Acceleration Control, basically the bit that knows you are pressing the accelerator and in turn makes the engine run faster.

In most cases switching off the engine and then starting it again will temporarily cure the fault.

The fault can be caused by various things, the Powertrain Control Module, Throttle body, or various module configuration or wiring issues.

Take it to a Ford dealer and have them do a diagnostic check on the car.
