I bought the car and had to finish putting some stuff back together, like radiator and vacuum lines, ect. I got it running but it will not fire on four cylinders, they are 3,4,5, and 7. I have tried everything, plugs and wires are ok, fuel injectors appear to be geting power and compression is great. And I have redropped the distributor many times. I am lost, I even tried the old 5.0 firing order please please help.

You might need a new trigger, or the sensor. That is if you know the cap is good.

I guess the "trigger" is not a replacement part. It takes a new distributor to fix that.

Take a look and make sure that the piece under the "button" (rotor) is intact for all eight cylinders. My guess is that some of the teeth like parts are broken.

this sounds like a cracked cap. alot of times you cant see the cracks, but when you put a load on the engine (accelerate) it misses on several cylinders. spray water, (windex bottle ) on the cap and wires at night and look for the fireworks. hope this helps.

fuel injectors maybe getting power, but, that doesn't mean they are working
