Replaced coil, fuel filter, fuel pump, cleaned carburetor, getting cap and rotor as well as plugs and wires tomorrow. Cpa and rotor are worn severely (cap corroded and burnt and dirty...rotor is relatively burnt)....will the tun up help? The car has 204,000 miles on it, and started acting up suddenly with no warning.

the experts----it is nice cost for something that runs. The cons---it is a Ford. heavily, it is not a bad deal once you're advantageous its immediately o.ok. in spite of in case you in basic terms get 30 to 50k extra miles out of it, it is low priced transportation.

Are you sure its carb or is it TBI? throttle body injection. if so could be the injector going out. do the tune up and if that dont help check the basics, plugged cat, wiring, vacuum lines, etc...

Sounds like the rings gave out, giving nothing but blow by. Compression check, necessary.
